Cash and credit cards

The banks in town are Banco do brasil and Bradesco. There are two ATMs at Banco do Brasil that is possible to withdraw cash from VISA and Mastercard, but not all the places take credit cards, so use it whenever you can.
Clothes

Don´t bring your entire wardrobe . During the day is usually hot, so shorts and t-shirts are the best options. At night the temperature goes down a little, but nothing too cold unless during winter. On higher areas like Vale do Capão and Mucugê, is colder at night, but just a coat is enough. If necessary, there are local laundries. Don´t forget to bring good tennis shoes and salndals. For trekking stuff, see "AND WHAT SHOULD I TAKE TO TREK ".
Food
There is a good variety of restaurants in tare great places to eat at fair prices, from tipical food to italian, mexican and asian cook.Try the local food, go easy on the bahian sauces and peppers, specialy if you´re going to trek on the next day!
Accomodation
There are many options from Hotels to simples Pousadas, even at the smaller villages. The most important is to decide your tour before book your staying. You might have be forced to give up a good tour that spends the night somewhere else because of this. Let us do this for you, if you preffer ( no charge)
And what should I take to trek?
Shoes - They will be your best friends during the walks, so bring one that you trust. If you decided to buy a brand new trekking shoe, start wearing them before, they take a while to fit well and can give you some blisters. Your old running shoes are fine if you don´t have proper one´s.
Shorts and pants – If possible, wear shorts or pants made of light material that dries fast., like suplex or other sportive tissues. These type of clothing save space and weight on you backpack. Some people like to wear pants to trekk. We always say to bring one. Some of the trails have a dried and high vegetation, bothering the legs a little bit, but nothing serious.
T-shirts and coats – Don´t take many clothes to the trail, even it´s going to be for a few days. The best thing is to bring no more than two, just for the trekking time, and a clean one for the night o, This will definetly save some space and weight on your bag. Don´t forget to bring a coat. If it´s not necessary, you can use it as a pillow.
Sandals, Flip flops, whatever – Don´t forget! At the end of every trekking day, the best feeling is to take of the shoes and put some sandals.
Hat – The heat and the sun here are quite strong for a good part of the year. At most of the trails you´ll be exposed to the sun for a few or many hours. Even if you´re used to this, we always advise do bring a hat. If you don´t have it, a good old t-shirt works very well too.
Swimming suits – Don´t forget
Rain Coat - Don´t forget either
Acessories

Backpack - For most of the tours, a small one is enough. It must be enough to carry your water bottle, lunch bag, hat, sunblock, rain coat, etc. For the long treks, it's good to have one around 30 - 45L, but we can inform you depending on your tour.

Emergency Kit – Your guide must always carry an emergency kit, but you should always have you own, specially to bring the medicines you´re used to take ( headaches, etc) but let´s not exagerate.
Flashlight – If you don´t have a good one and probably won´t need it after your vacation, thare are always cheap one´s for this case. The best options, of course, are the head lamps. They work fine, are light and small. Don´t forget to always carry extra batteries, and remebmber where you put them on your bag, in case you need to find them at night.
Water bottle – You must always carry a bottle of water with you and always drink water during the trek to avoid dehydration. Your guide must always inform you about water sources on the way. Rememeber, our bady always needs more water than he asks.
Sunblock - Please, don´t "I don´t need, I´m used to it" me. The sun here is no fun. We´re exposed good part of the day and it´s extremely important to protect ourselves. Get a tun with safety.
Spray repeler - Mosquitos are part of the ecossistem and so part of some of our tours. It´s not a big deal, it´s no Amazon but if you are alergic, don´t forget one.
IMPORTANT
DRINK A LOT OF WATER - Dehydration is the main cause of ilness during long trekkings. It can give you headaches, stomachaches, diarrhea, an others. So, remeber to keep yourself hydrated. . The ideal is to drink at least 2L per day. During a trek, your body looses a lot of water with the exercise and the sun.
ILNESSES, ALERGIES AND PARTICULARITIES - Before every tour, specially the long treks, always inform your agency or guide any personal diseases or particularities that you have. Breathing or cardiac problems, low or high blood pressure, recent surgeries, alergies or other physical problems. Don´t be shy. This way we can avoid any eventuality, assuring your safety during the tour.
